Introducing the Global PrAKI Grand Rounds
We are launching the Global PrAKI Grand Rounds, interactive, case-based virtual sessions connecting midwives, obstetricians and nephrologists worldwide. Modelled on the successful ISN Grand Rounds, these sessions are designed to shift maternal kidney care from late-stage emergency response to early prevention and careful fluid management.

Our first four sessions will be led by clinical teams from Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia and Sierra Leone — in that order. Dates coming soon.

What to expect
Each 60-minute session follows a structured format:

  • Real cases. The presenting team walks through actual patient journeys — admission, diagnosis, fluid balance, blood pressure, management.
  • Open discussion. Audience Q&A and cross-country dialogue on how lessons translate to other settings.
  • Toolkit in practice. Each session connects the case to PrAKI Consortium tools and evidence — showing what works and how to implement it.

South-North learning at the heart of it
Global health education has historically flowed one way. Some of the most effective solutions for rapid triage, resource stewardship and task-shifting are being developed right now in low- and middle-income countries. These Grand Rounds put those teams at the front of the room.
