At a CRIBS Global workshop for participants from Zambia, Sierra Leone and South Africa, the Global PrAKI Academy held a workshop on emergency peritoneal dialysis for pregnancy associated acute kidney injury (PrAKI).

At the workshop, PrAKI co-founder Dr Katherine Clark, presented Professor Concepta Kwaleyela, President of the Midwives Association of Zambia with the Kidney Kind Champion award.

This award is for professionals who have demonstrated consistent, exemplary clinical practice in the prevention, identification or management of PrAKI and dedication to education in the field of PrAKI.

Professor Kwaleyela committed, on behalf of the Midwives Association of Zambia, to work with the Global PrAKI Academy to develop a Kidney Kind Champion Network in Zambia with plans for training, research and service improvement work already in place.  This matches a similar commitment from Dr Eunice Atsali and the Midwives Association of Kenya.  Further collaborations are sought.
